I am often asked if I have prints of paintings either because the original is sold or is too large, but until last year I never considered getting reproductions made. There were two reasons for a change of mind; the first was that last year I worked with digital printer Andrew Turnbull to make a number of prints for an exhibition and was very impressed with the high quality achieved, and the second was that a number of people seeing these prints asked if I would consider making reproductions of four large paintings hanging nearby. I spoke to Andrew who reassured me that increasing numbers of galleries were producing limited edition signed reproductions to satisfy demand from customers unable to purchase originals. Later in his studio he showed me a very impressive reproduction on archival paper that he had just finished. It was to the same very high standard as the original digital prints on archival paper that he had made for me, so I decided to proceed with the set of four paintings that had instigated the latest enquiries. The original paintings are Ascent, Descent, Vortex and Above and Below all oil on board 170x74cms. The reproductions are on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm paper with an image size of 90x39cms, in signed limited editions of 15. They have sold well but a number are still available.
Following the story on my blog about the resurrection of my 1969 painting, Skinheads, I received a number of enquiries for reproductions. So I decided to include Skinheads and two other early paintings that I have had enquiries about over the years in my signed limited edition reproduction portfolio. They are; Skinheads, 1969, acrylic and oil on canvas 153x102cms, District Line 1978, acrylic and oil on canvas 183x153cms(Collection Museum of London) and Routemasters 1982 oil on canvas 110x150cms. The reproductions are on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm paper also in signed limited editions of 15. A number of each are still available. Reproduction image sizes;Skinheads 90×59, District Line 72x60cms, and Routemasters 54x72cms
